Total funds raised in 2013: $5,035.71

We want to thank everyone who helped out by sponsoring, donating, volunteering, and tuning in to watch. With your help, we managed to raise just over $5000 for Child’s Play, to be turned into games and toys for children in hospitals all over the world.

Our players mustered 2732 headshots, raising almost $700 of our total just from playing! A special thank you to everyone who joined our LAN party, won prizes, and took a spot in our Steelseries Community Chair! We hope to see everyone next year for Headshots from the Heart 2014!

Headshots from the Heart is an online marathon where a team of three players, along with members of the community, will play through as much of Borderlands 2 as they can over twenty-four hours. Broadcast live, we’ll be encouraging viewers to donate through us to Child’s Play, a charity that provides toys and video games to children’s hospitals worldwide. Over two years, we’ve raised nearly $8000 for Child’s Play, and next year we hope to raise even more, both from our community and from an international audience.

There are many marathons online which contribute to causes like this, but what makes Headshots from the Heart unique is that viewers can donate directly, or they can pledge an amount of money to be earned by our players each time they defeat a foe with a critical hit, or “Head shot”. This means they don’t have to just play for twenty-four hours straight, they have to play their best in order to earn your money for charity. Children deserve our best, and we at Headshots from the Heart intend to give it to them.

The entire event will be streamed online, and during the broadcast, there will be auctions, interviews, challenges, performances and more!
