Does seal all work?
For oil and water leaks it’s important to apply the seal all to a clean dry surface wet seal all has the potential to damage the material you were trying to fix. And that’s just no good.

What happens if Flex Seal gets wet before it cures?
A: Depending on the thickness of the layer the product needs 24 – 48 hours to fully cure. Temperature and humidity levels will also impact the curing process. Humid environments will cure the product faster than dry environments. If the treated area is still wet or soft, it will need more time to cure.
What will silicone sealant not stick to?

Generally, silicone RTV mold making rubber does not stick to anything, and nothing will stick to it. The exception is that it will stick to itself, other silicones, silica, and glass.

What happens if silicone sealant gets wet before it cures?
If caulk gets wet before it is allowed to completely cure, it’s formula won’t perform as intended. That could mean it’ll take longer than advertised to dry and cure or, worse, the tight seal you were hoping to create will be compromised. If the latter happens, you’ll have to remove the caulk and start the project over.
How long will silicone last?
Standards that give shelf lives for elastomers, group different types into categories. BSI SO2230 puts silicone into Group C which has the lowest sensitivity to ageing effects and gives silicone an initial ten years shelf life. After this it needs to be tested in some way to prove that it is still “fit for purpose”.
