How do I get to Leinster Bay?
From Cruz Bay – head west ( left as you face St John) up the hill on Rte 20 ( North Shore Road). You’ll follow the twisting road for about 5 mi – passing Caneel Bay Resort, Hawksnest, Jumbie, Trunk, Cinnamon and Maho Bay beach. After Maho the road turns to a single lane. Follow it until you come to a “Y” intersection.

The Leinster Bay Trail is a flat 0.8-mile trail that follows the shoreline of Leinster Bay from the end of the paved road beyond the Annaberg Sugar Mill parking lot Leinster Bay Road to the beach at Waterlemon Bay.

You can snorkel to the cay from the beach at Waterlemon Bay, but it’s a long swim. If you hike the whole way to the end of the trail, you can enter from here and the swim is shorter.

How hard is Reef Bay Trail?
Moderately difficult trail with great views, really interesting old sugar mill ruins, and a side trail to see the petroglyphs that empties into a beautiful bay. The hike is somewhat steep, especially near the top and the last half mile is the hardest part. Bring plenty of water and start early.
