Are dogs allowed at RAF Cosford?
Animals, other than Assistance Dogs accompanying their owners, are not allowed inside any building. Please be aware that there is no parking with shade on a hot day. The Museum’s fire alarms are sound only. Museum staff wearing high visibility vests will direct visitors to the nearest exit.
How long do people spend at RAF Cosford?
There is a huge array of aircraft and displays at RAF Museum Midlands. We are open daily from 10.00am and we recommend you allow four hours for a full site visit which will take in the Wartime Hangars and National Cold War Exhibition.

Is RAF Museum good for toddlers?
It’s one of the many free things to do in London with kids and is definitely one of the best family-friendly museums in London in terms of suitability for the whole family. We visited in November 2019 on a cold and blustery day and were very glad to be able to spend almost the entire visit inside in the warmth.

There is a 12-year contract at the RAF (massive job security) but you can leave it just like any other job. It depends on how long you’ve already served to how much notice you need to give. But if you want to leave, you can. You’re not locked in to anything.

When off duty, RAF personnel can leave the base any time they want. Weekends and holidays are free but there are opportunities to do so much more. There are over 100 adventurous training activities available, from mountaineering to skiing and scuba diving to sailing.
