Fishing or netting is not permitted in the gazetted dolphin feeding area at any time. Shark fishing is not permitted (This includes Wobbegong Sharks) Lures with multiple hooks are not permitted to be used from the jetty due to danger to other guests on the jetty (Plastic baits are acceptable)
Can you swim to the wrecks at Moreton Island?
While the wrecks are close to the beach please be careful when trying to swim across as a strong current sweeps between the wrecks and the beach when the tide is running, so don’t try and swim against it. The Tangalooma wrecks are an unpatrolled beach meaning there are no lifesavers on duty.

What’s the best bait to catch yabbies?
Bait. As Yabbies are scavengers these guys will often take various baits. I’ve found what works best is Whole pilchards as they provide a strong scent trail but these can get quite expensive.
How long should you leave a yabby trap in for?
When these nets are checked, the sides come up, trapping the yabbies in the net, making these ideal for shorter checks. I usually leave my drop nets in for around 15-30 minutes depending on the waterway in which I am yabbying.
