WAS The Book of Eli good?
Overall The Book of Eli is an excellent film itself and an excellent spin on the post-apocalyptic genre. Oh yeah, and Denzel Washington actually manages to pull off the part of a wizened, old bad ass.
What is the message of Book of Eli?
Carnegie believes having the Bible will give him the words to rule by. He knows there’s power in it, power in the words, and he wants it for that power. Eli knows this and fights to protect it. His mission, his ministry, is to take the Bible west to a place where God wants it to be.

Was Eli blind in The Book of Eli?
Eli tells the guards that he has a copy of the Bible. Taken inside, Eli is revealed to be blind and dictates the New King James Version of the Bible from memory to Lombardi, the sanctuary’s leader. In the town, the Engineer opens Eli’s locked Bible, which Carnegie discovers is in Braille.
Why is Book of Eli Rated R?
Finally, a word about the violence in this movie – yes – it is very violent, and much of the violence is shocking. However, note that throughout the movie, Eli resorts to violence on when necessary to feed himself (animals), and when necessary to defend himself.
Will there be an Eli 2?
It doesn’t look like there will ever be a “Book of Eli 2.” The first film wraps up its main story, ending with Eli’s death after completing his mission to take the Bible to the printing press in San Francisco, and only leaves a little room for a sequel with Solara going out on her own.

No nudity, but some gore. I won’t post spoilers, but it’s a great October movie, or anytime movie. I personally loved it. I wouldn’t say kids younger than 12 should watch this.

I’m at a loss for words, so let me say these right away: “The Book of Eli” is very watchable. You won’t be sorry you went. It grips your attention, and then at the end throws in several WTF! moments, which are a bonus. They make everything in the entire movie impossible and incomprehensible — but, hey, WTF.
