What collets fit in the Makita router?
Direct fit 1/8″ collet for Makita trim routers. Allows you to run 1/8″ shank bits on your trim router or CNC machine!
How far should a router bit in collet?
about 1/16″
For the best grip, a router bit should be fully inserted into the collet and then backed out about 1/16″ (leaving between 3/4″ and 1″ of the shaft in the collet). The gap allows the collet and bit to be pulled down as the nut is tightened.
What are collets on a router?

Do you offer 1/8″ precision Collet adapters for Makita rt0701 routers?
I’m happy to announce that we now have 1/8″ Precision Collet Adapters for Makita RT0701 Routers available on our store. These collets are specially designed for Makita RT0701 routers which are commonly used on LongMills and other hobby CNC machines.
Is the Makita Collet cone the same as the Amico?
Don’t make my mistake. To my surprise, the Amico collet nut came with an identical 1/2″ collet cone, and it costs 7 dollars compared to the 37 I spent on the Makita collet cone. Save money and buy the Amico collet nut!!!
Can you use a precision Collet with a router?
The Precision Collet should also reduce the chance of the bit falling out during cutting or being pushed into the router with every plunge cut with its more reliable bit holding. The 1/4″ to 1/8″ Collet Adapter offers an inexpensive and relatively accurate way to use 1/8″ bits with your 1/4″ router.
Can I use a 1/2 shaft router bit in a Colette?
Once installed, this 1/2″ Colette will NOT accept a 1/2″ shaft router bit. DO NOT BUY! Due to family illness I missed the return deadline or I definitely would have sent it back for a refund. Bad choice on my part. Don’t make my mistake.
