Can you give medicine through J tube?
The abbreviation for a gastrostomy tube is G-tube. A jejunal tube (J-tube) is an artificial opening into the jejunum through the abdominal wall. It may be a permanent or temporary opening, and is used for feeding or medication administration.
What do you flush J tube with?

To reduce the risk of tube clogs always use lukewarm water to flush the tube. Flush every 4-6 hours, if feeding is continuous.

Routinely flush feeding tubes using tepid water, never hot water. With continuous or nocturnal feedings, flush at least 30 mL every 4, 6, or 8 hours to prevent clogging. With bolus feedings, flush at least 60 mL before and after formula infusion.

Bolus feeding entails administration of 200–400 ml of feed down a feeding tube over 15–60 minutes at regular intervals. The technique may cause bloating and diarrhoea and bolus delivery into the jejunum can cause a “dumping” type syndrome and should therefore be avoided (see section 10.4).

It is very important never to bolus feed the J-port of a GJ-tube. The intestine is not able to hold a large volume like the stomach can.
Can miralax be given via J tube?

How do you stop diarrhea from a feeding tube?
Try adding a soluble fiber product to your daily tube feeding regimen or switching to a fiber-containing formula to help make your stools more formed. Consider using probiotics, recognized by the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine as effective in treating diarrhea.
Can you give Metamucil through a feeding tube?
If the Metamucil is mixed with water and put through the tube right away, it could be ok. You could always mix some up and see how long it takes before it thickens. As said, make sure to add at least 8oz of water per serving, and please please please make sure to flush the tube a couple times with water afterwards.
Is jejunostomy a major surgery?
Although it is a relatively simple procedure, it can be associated with complications like bowel obstruction and metabolic abnormalities. Minimally invasive techniques are preferred in the placement of these tubes.
