How do you get a match on DonorsChoose?
To receive the match, donors must enter the promo code on the payment screen during checkout and click “Apply.” (They’ll see a confirmation message to let them know the match went through.) The code is valid for one week from the time that your project is approved.
How do I add a campaign code to DonorsChoose?
Near the top, click on the blue text that says “Apply a gift or promo code” Enter your promo code and click “Apply” – you’ll see the promo match applied to your donation! Enter remaining payment details and press “Place this donation.” You’re all set!
How much money does DonorsChoose take?
We encourage donors to dedicate 15% of each donation to support the work that we do. Donors’ inclusion of this suggested donation enables us to pay our bills, our rent, and our employees. It’s the only way we’re able to continue supporting public schools nationwide.

It’s easy for teachers to post projects on the DonorsChoose website:
- Visit www.DonorsChoose.org/teachers.
- Select “Get Started” to create a teacher account.
- Select “Create a Project” then “Get Started.”
- Select project type, then “Save and Create Title.”
- Name the project, then “Save and Go Shopping” at e-school mall.
How do you add items to donors choose?
You do not need to input any personal or payment information. Once you’ve checked out, your order will automatically show up in your project cart. Use the “Continue Shopping” button to add materials from another vendor to your project.
Does DonorsChoose charge a fee?

How many projects can you have on DonorsChoose?
A teacher may have up to 10 projects “in progress” at any given time. A project is considered to be “in progress” from the time you submit it to DonorsChoose until we receive your complete Thank-You Package.
How long does it take to approve a DonorsChoose project?
After you click submit, we’ll review your project within 5 business days. Once your project has been reviewed, you will receive an email either: Letting you know that your project has been approved and posted (congrats!) OR.
What percentage of DonorsChoose projects get funded?
Seventy percent of all projects DO get funded (not bad, eh?). When your project gets funded, they send you your shopping list and you send back photos of happy students and some thank you notes for your donors.
How can I edit my Donors Choose project?
When can you edit a project? If your project is currently posted on our site AND has not received any donations, you can make any edits you’d like by returning your project to a draft status. You can do this through our contact form. Once your project is in draft status, you can make any edits and resubmit it.
How long does it take for a DonorsChoose project to be approved?
We encourage teachers to submit projects that can be carried out at any time during the school year, as it can take anywhere from four minutes to four months for a project to be fully funded.
Do DonorsChoose items belong to the teacher?
Per the Donors Choose policy, all materials, including technology, are the property of the public school to which they are sent; however, the materials should be given to the teacher who submitted the project. If a free or bonus item is included in the order, that item also belongs to the school.
How much can you ask for on DonorsChoose?
DonorsChoose does not specify a dollar limit for projects, and some ambitious projects have been funded. That said, the less a project costs, the more likely it is to be funded.

You can donate dollars into your own account without having to pick projects first. You can keep this balance in your account, and use it to fund projects over the next 12 months. These are called Account Credits.

What happens if your project doesnt get funded DonorsChoose?
DonorsChoose cannot make any purchases until funding is 100% complete. If your project doesn’t reach its funding goal or is removed after receiving any donations, the donations from your friends and family will be sent to you as DonorsChoose.org gift codes that you can use toward your next project.
Does DonorsChoose Contact your school?
After a project is fully funded, an email is sent to a random selection of teachers from your school that are registered on our site, to alert them to the arrival of your materials and congratulate you on your great work! Receiving these notifications is a requirement to participate in DonorsChoose.org.
Can you donate to your own DonorsChoose project?
