The resort is open from 9 a.m. to 9 or 10 p.m. when night skiing is offered, and a full-day ticket buys you eight consecutive hours of skiing. So you aren’t limited to 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. like you would be at most resorts.
Can you swim in Lake Wintergreen?
Lake Wintergreen does not allow swimming at any time within the lake. Swimming in the lake will get you a ticket by the conservation officer.

Can you ski at Wintergreen in December?
December is much too early to enjoy skiing. Only two trails were open due to warm weather, and they were very short. The resort does a great job of snow-making, but are at the mercy of wet-bulb temperatures. My advice would be to go further north or go to West Virginia if you want to ski.
