How do you dress a wound with MediHoney?
Apply MediHoney either directly to the wound bed, or onto a suitable primary dressing such as alginate, gauze pad, or island dressing. Cover with an appropriate secondary dressing. Made in Canada. Dressing change frequency will depend on the condition of the patient as well as the level of wound exudate.
Does MEDIHONEY have side effects?
There are two important adverse effects related to the use of medical honey. We have observed in about 5% of our patients stinging pain after administration. This problem may be circumvented by the conditioning of the wound surface with a sterile anaesthetic cream.
