Is Smiggins good for beginners?
The Smiggins that we know today now has excellent terrain for our beginner guests and families with a bowl where everyone returns to the same place when finishing their runs. Smiggins is protected from the weather and has a variety of restaurants and lodging options for guests.

Driving to Smiggins is a 30 minute drive from Jindabyne Town Centre. This is a great way to see our beautiful landscape and get some pretty spectacular views of Jindabyne on the way up. We have a car park that is available for day use only and then you just walk from your car right onto the snow.

Back Perisher Mtn features the best easy slopes at Perisher Blue! The Perisher Blue skiing-area covers seven mountain peaks. We recommend all beginners to start the day either at Smiggins Alpine Village or on the slopes of the 2014m high Back Perisher Mtn.

Blue Cow has a selection of beginner and intermediate tickets, which can be upgraded when you’re ready to explore the more advanced terrain. Blue Cow has a great variety of runs that also directly link to Perisher and Guthega.

In general, the magic age for skiing is closer to 5. If given the chance, and at least three consecutive days of learning, a kid around 4.5 to 5 years old may be able to get the basics of listening, turning, stopping and managing the lifts enough to get out of the ski school corral and onto the wide-open green runs.
Are kids ski lessons worth it?
Is ski school worth the money? Absolutely. But kids don’t need ski school every time they ski. Take them after they have learned how to stop (a $15 edgie wedgie is WAY cheaper than a full day lesson – you’ve GOT THIS!), when they’re learning a hard skill, or when they’re ready to tackle harder terrain.

Is Thredbo or Perisher better?
Best for skiing: Perisher. Although Thredbo does have a higher drop, Perisher has almost 3 times the number of runs available and skiable terrain. Best for its village and aprés-ski: Thredbo. There are many more accommodation options and the village has a great alpine atmosphere.
Can I ski from Perisher to Blue Cow?
To spend the day in Blue Cow, you can jump on board the Skitube from either Bullocks Flat Terminal or Perisher Valley and arrive at Blue Cow Terminal. From Blue Cow you then have direct access to ride at Guthega! You can also ski to Blue Cow from Perisher via Perisher Express Quad Chair or Interceptor Chair.
Is the Skitube free between Perisher and Blue Cow?
