Why did they drop the W in WGBH?
The organization felt that the inclusion of the “W” prefix was too synonymous with terrestrial broadcasting, and did not reflect its current multi-platform operations. WGBH also cited that “GBH” was already commonly-used as a shorthand name for the station.
