You will get a VAC ban when you connect to a secure server using a device with installed identifiable cheats. If you get a VAC ban, you cannot use that account on a secure server again. The ban is permanent and cannot be appealed—erroneous VAC bans are removed automatically.

vac only bans the account in use, no hardware ban and no ban to other accounts used. if you get the message on game launch that vac has been disabled its safe. if you dont see the message you did not set the -insecure flag correctly and you can be vac banned in bot matches !
