What is customs declaration CN22?
A PS Form 2976, Customs Declaration CN22 – Sender’s Declaration, must be used on all First-Class Mail International® package- size items (small packets), First-Class Package International Service™ items, Priority Mail International® Small Flat Rate Boxes, M-bags, and certain Priority Mail Express International™ items.

The CN22 is a customs form used when sending gifts and goods abroad worth less than £270 with Royal Mail.

CN22 and CN23 are customs declaration documents that detail the contents of a package being sent outside of the UK when being sent through the Royal Mail. They assist the process customs go through when checking packages, and they detail important information about the contents of anything being posted.
Which countries need a CN22 form?
The CN22 and CN23 customs decorations are therefore required for international shipping outside the EU. Still, international shipping, including Norway, Great Britain, and Switzerland, requires the CN22 and CN23 customs forms. As a result, the forms contain information about the goods you are shipping.
Do I need a CN22 for documents?

Items containing Personal Correspondence do not require a CN22 or CN23. Personal Correspondence is letters, brochures, catalogues, C4 and below addressed to an individual (that are not sale of goods), postcards, braille letters, individual invoices/statements.

CN22A and CN22B forms
If you are sending items with Royal Mail International Tracking and Signature services, you’ll need a CN22A form. If you are shipping your items with Royal Mail International Economy or International Standard services, you’ll need a CN22B form that includes a barcode unique to your shipment.

Royal Mail has now introduced two new forms, CN22A and CN22B, to replace the old CN22 forms. The new forms contain more information, like the sender’s name and address as well as the VAT number, and they are bigger in length than the old forms. How detailed do you need to be on a customs form?
