When did Destination Imagination start?
1999
Destination Imagination (DI) was founded in 1999. Our non-profit organization continues to grow with the support of 38,000 volunteers throughout 27 countries.
Who founded Destination Imagination?
The special was conceived by the four, along with Darrick Bachman, Edward Baker, Vaughn Tada, and Alex Kirwan, as a means of creating an adventure story, to “send the gang on a fantastic quest.”
What is a DI team?
Destination Imagination (DI) is open to all kindergarten through university level students worldwide. Students form teams of up to 7 members, select their preferred Challenge and work together to develop a solution to the Challenge.
How many people can be on a Destination Imagination team?
Two to seven members can be on a team, and students from kindergarten through university level participate. Each team needs an adult Team Manager. Team Managers help students stay on track but do not directly help the team develop its solution to the DI Challenge.
