What is the timeline of BioShock?
The series consists of three main games. BioShock (2007) and BioShock 2 (2010) take place in the 1960s in the fictional underwater city of Rapture. BioShock Infinite (2013) is thematically and narratively tied to the first games, but takes place in 1912 aboard the floating city of Columbia.
Does BioShock Infinite follow the story?
No. Bioshock Infinite’s story is completely separate from that of Bioshock 1+2, which are somewhat tied together. Only in small parts (and in DLC as part of the Bioshock Infinite Season Pass) do the stories from 1+2 overlap with that of Infinite’s.

Are there different endings in BioShock Infinite?
There’s only one ending. The choices you can make in the game have no effect. It’s made that way, the idea of the game was the feeling of being out of control, that your choices can’t change the constants. It gives you choices then tells you they were meaningless. You have to plug your controller into the player 2 port.
Is BioShock Infinite better than BioShock 1?
Rapture was more interesting than Columbia, and most of the supporting characters in Bioshock are better than those in Infinite (e.g. Sander Cohen, Tenenbaum, etc.), but Infinite’s story is much deeper and more fleshed out. Bioshock 1 had a good story, but it was mostly centered around Rapture’s backstory and the twist near the end.
