No, retaking a subject will not affect their university application or how universities see students as a student. Universities cannot see what A Level subjects students failed, or needed to retake, the only results shown are their new/recent/passed grades that students uploaded.
Do you have to put failed subjects on UCAS?
Yes, you must put all qualifications you’ve studied for, whether or not you passed them, completed the course or whatever. There’s a very good database of qualifications now, to which HEIs have access. Failing to declare them will result in it being found out, and your application cancelled. It’s not worth it.

112 points may sound like a lot, but actually, it’s not as bad as it seems and most students can achieve it with studying 3 A Levels.
