How many jets does my pool need?
Most pools will use a minimum of 2 or 3 return jets, and install them in the deep end, shallow end, and any other area of the pool that provides balanced circulation to the water.
What direction should pool jets face?
Return jets The jets should all point in the same direction, ideally at a 45-degree angle that’s directed toward the bottom of the pool. One way to remember it: Point the jets at 4 o’clock or 7 o’clock and ensure that the jets are not pushing water toward the skimmers.
How should I aim my return jets in my pool?
How deep should a pool return be?
12 to 18 inches
Though returns have traditionally been placed 12 to 18 inches below the water’s surface, more professionals are recommending that they be installed closer to the floor.
What direction should pool returns face?
It’s good practice to point your return jets in a direction that will circulate the water in your pool. If your pool only has one jet, point the jet toward the skimmer and downward. This will circulate the water, and push the water at the bottom of the pool to the surface.
Should I run my pool pump at night or day?
It is best to run your pool’s pump during the day when the sun is out to reduce the risks of algae bloom and because there is generally more debris and contaminants that will enter your pool in the day.
